BBC Moneybox host to compere financial expert Frenkel Topping conference

Frenkel Topping has secured award-winning presenter Paul Lewis, host of BBC Radio 4’s Moneybox, to chair its annual Deputy Day conference.

The longstanding champion of financial issues will host the conference in May, which is a day dedicated to issues facing professional deputies when dealing with the financial affairs of the injured people they represent.

He will also chair the Question Time event, a segment wherein journalists and guests can quiz expert panellists on an array of topics.

 He said: “I am absolutely delighted to confirm that I will be hosting the Frenkel Topping Deputy Day 12th Annual Conference.

“The financial challenges facing people who have suffered catastrophic injury are complex, and it is paramount to ensure that every individual receives the best possible settlement, both to meet their needs in the short term and to secure their financial future.”

The event is designed and run by Frenkel Topping, a national independent financial advisory firm which specialises in the areas of personal injury and clinical negligence.

Paul – who has also featured on BBC Radio 5’s Wake Up To Money, BBC One’s Rip Off Britain, and regularly contributes to BBC News – will be joined by a programme of esteemed speakers from the judiciary Court of Protection for personal injury and clinical negligence legal profession.

He has presented Money Box on Radio 4 since 2000 and appears on a number of other radio and television programmes. He writes for Saga Magazine, Radio Times, Financial Times, and Money Marketing, having been a freelance financial journalist since 1986.

He has won many awards since then, with the most recent being the e has won many awardsHeadline Money Financial Broadcaster of the Year 2017, and now holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Essex.

He was also voted Consumer Champion 2017 by the Chartered Insurance Institute. In 2018, he was the Kames Capital broadcast journalist of the year.

He will be addressing an audience of around 200 professional deputies and sector specialists.
