"The specialist lending forums will help brokers create new opportunities and not only protect their businesses but help them to grow."

Clever Lending, the master broker, has announced the launch of three specialist finance forums including Robert Sinclair, Chief Executive of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI), as a keynote speaker.

Clever Lending has organised these specialist events as they have seen a growing demand from brokers seeking help with complex cases.  Some are just border line prime cases where clients have a minor anomaly on their credit profile or are purchasing an unusual property type. There are large growth areas with self-employed applicants, clients with multiple income sources and those with an irregular source of income.

As well as Robert Sinclair, there will be four leading specialist lenders holding sessions covering key topics in specialist lending and how it is becoming increasingly popular for providing solutions to a variety of complex case scenarios. The lenders will each cover a different aspect of the specialist sector for the self-employed, commercial funding, bridging finance and second charges.

The impact of technology on the mortgage market place presents both threats and opportunities, what the future could look like for mortgage advice and its importance for brokers will be covered by Mark Dryden of 360Dotnet.

With many brokers still focusing on prime or straightforward business, this could be a threat to their businesses and longer term growth. However, the Clever Lending forums aim to help brokers to take their initial steps in to specialist lending or broaden the scope of the business they are capable of writing with the support of experts in this arena.

The three events are free for brokers to attend. They will start at 0930, a free lunch will be provided and are to be held at:

Wednesday 2nd May at Kempton Park

Tuesday 15th May at the Belfry, West Midlands

Tuesday 12th June at Haydock Park Race Course

Paul Day, Sales Development Director, Clever Lending said: “The specialist lending forums will help brokers create new opportunities and not only protect their businesses but help them to grow by highlighting the new types of case they could handle and solutions offered by specialist lending products. Technology plays a huge and growing part in our industry and presents threats and opportunities being aware of both is imperative, we will give an insight in to this too.

“Specialist lending is evolving into the mainstream for the modern mortgage adviser. Whether they’re looking to enter this lucrative sector or are already taking advantage and looking to develop further, these events are a must.”

Robert Sinclair, Chief Executive of the AMI, commented: “Specialist lending plays a very important role in our industry and one that all brokers should consider for complex borrowing requirements, even when it falls outside their normal client profile. If brokers are unfamiliar with this sector there is specialist help available and this is why events such as these by Clever Lending are so important in expanding knowledge further or exploring new solutions.”
