Commenting on Chancellor George Osborne’s pledge of continued strong support for the Northern Powerhouse, John Hall, chief executive of Professional Liverpool, gave his views.
John said: “As an organisation representing thousands of professionals across the city, we totally welcome the Chancellor’s commitment to continue talks on devolution plans for the Liverpool City Region. We recently held an event to discuss devolution and the future of Liverpool and the overwhelming response from the private sector was that devolution is critical to its future.
“It is very positive to see that devolution deals have progressed in Manchester and this is exactly what we hope to see in Liverpool. We want to be a ‘United Liverpool’ with one strong, unified voice representing the interests of all and helping to drive the city’s key assets, economy and inward investment. We are pleased to see the Chancellor pledging his support to put the ‘power’ into the Northern Powerhouse and want to see this momentum continue.”
